The Big Life Foundation anti-poaching unit was informed of the location of the poacher through their community network. The team made the arrest alongside Kenya Wildlife Service. According to Big Life, the poacher was arrested last year but released. The team from Amboseli Elephant Research identified the dead elephants as Qumquat and her two daughters Qantina and Quaye.
